Syncing a second To Do List

This section outlines how to create a new filter to sync one additional To Do List. If you wish, repeat these instructions to create custom filters to sync up to four additional To Do Lists.

Setting up Pylon to sync a second To Do List consists of two major steps:

• "Using the Other To Do... template to create a new filter"
• "Configuring Pylon to sync two To Do Lists"

Using the Other To Do... template to create a new filter

1. Open the AvantGo Pylon Configuration database. For instructions, see "Opening the Pylon Configuration Database".
2. In the Navigation pane, click Filters.

A list of all available filters and templates appears in the View pane.
3. Under To Do List, double-click Other To Do....

The Other To Do filter configuration document apears.
4. Double-click Full Options Template.

The Other To Do filter configuration document becomes a Full Options template.
5. Give the filter a title, using the following guidelines:
• All filters must have a title.
• The filter title should be unique to avoid duplication and possible sync errors.
• The filter title should not have three dots (...) in it, to avoid possible sync errors.
• Do not give the filter the title "New Filter," to avoid possible sync errors or unpredictable behavior.
• Filter titles are limited to a maximum of 128 characters.
6. Do not change the App title that is associated with the template (in this case, To Do List).
7. In the Server field, select or enter the name of the Notes server where the Notes database for the second To Do List is located. Click on the drop-down arrow to bring up a Keyword list of known servers.
8. In the Database field, select or enter the Notes database name-path belonging to the user of the second To Do List (for example, Mail\jdoe.nsf). Click on the drop-down arrow to bring up a Keyword list of known name-paths.
9. In the Category Sync field, enter an on-device category name for the second To Do List.

Note: All entries from the second To Do List database will sync to the single device category that you specify in the Category Sync field.

10. Make any other changes to the Lotus Notes Configuration, the Mobile Device Configuration, or the Address Book Configuration. These fields are explained in the section, "Making changes to a To Do sync filter".
11. Click Fully Defined Options in the Options area.
12. Click Save Filter.

Pylon creates a new To Do filter using the parameters you indicated.

Now, move on to the next step, "Configuring Pylon to sync two To Do Lists".

Configuring Pylon to sync two To Do Lists

1. Open the AvantGo Pylon Configuration database. For instructions, see "Opening the Pylon Configuration Database".
2. In the navigation pane, click Configurations, then click Edit Configuration.
3. In your Configuration document, check the box to enable Additional Databases.

The screen refreshes and the #Apps column appears.
4. Underneath #Apps, click the drop-down arrow.

The Select Keywords panel appears.
5. In the Keywords list, click the number 2.
6. Click OK.

The panel closes and you return to your Configuration document. You now have the option of choosing a second filter for the To Do List application.
7. Choose the Filter you just created for the additional To Do List.
8. Choose the Synchronization Action for the additional database.
9. Click Save and Close to save your changes and exit the Configuration document.
10. Sync your device to obtain the entries from both from To Do Lists.
