This chapter describes online analytical processing (OLAP) functionality. OLAP is a method of data analysis for information stored in relational databases. Using OLAP you can acquire result sets with subtotalled rows and organize data into multidimensional cubes. It lets you use filters so that you can drill down into the data and is designed to return result sets quickly.
